Best Management Practices: Retrofit [Rt] A retrofit allows a permanent storm-water detention basin to act as a temporary sediment retention basin (Sd3) by placing a temporary device to filter sediment in front of the basin's outlet structure. By using stone around a perforated half-round pipe or a slotted board dam, the retrofit will filter the water and trap sediment before the water leaves the basin. The retrofit should be kept clear of all trash and debris and should be removed at the completion of the project. |
