Best Management Practices:
Temporary Downdrain Structure [Dn1]

Temporary pipe drains are designed to transport water form one elevation to another by routing water away from direct contact with the face of the slope.

By transferring water through the pipe, temporary downdrains protect slopes and reduce erosion. Corrugated, non-perforated plastic pipe, anchored at intervals not more than ten feet, allows the slope to drain beyond the toe of the slope and dissipate at the toe of the slope.

The temporary measure should be removed once a permanent water disposal system is installed or the disturbed area reaches final stabilization.
