Best Management Practices:
Vegetated Waterway or Storm Water Conveyance Channel [Wt]

A waterway that has been shaped and stabilized with vegetation will help prevent erosion and reduce sedimentation while disposing of storm-water runoff.

A properly installed waterway can be rounded or squared-off. An erosion control mat (Mb) is usually used to protect the seed and soil until permanent vegetation is established in the channel. In addition to being an aesthetically pleasing way to carry discharged water, the vegetation also acts as an extra filter for the water to pass through.

Some channels are designed to use stone or tile centers dependent on the proposed velocity of the water carried in the channel.
